Travel Support

How does Foothills AHEC provide travel support?

Foothills AHEC offers travel stipends to advanced practice health profession students enrolled in an in-state academic program​ to relieve some of the costs incurred while performing eligible clinical rotations in our 31-county service area in northeast Georgia while remote from their academic campus.

Is my clinical rotation eligible for travel support?

Your clinical rotation is eligible for travel support if it meets the following criteria:

  1. Occurs in one of Foothills AHEC’s 31-counties

  2. Occurs in a county more than 25 miles from your educational institution's home campus or from your current address

  3. Lasts for a minimum of 8 days

  4. Does not occur while you are receiving housing support

My clinical rotation is eligible. How do I apply?
  1. Review the Travel Support Policy.

  2. Download and complete the Student Support Form.

  3. Email the completed form to Leslie Preveaux, our Student Support Coordinator.

How much travel support will I receive?
  • $100 stipend for a completed eligible clinical rotation of 20 days or more

  • $50 stipend for a completed eligible clinical rotation of less than 20 days

  • Up to $200 maximum per academic year
