HSTE Teachers
What is an HSTE teacher?
A Healthcare Science Technology Education (HSTE) teacher provides opportunities for middle and high school students to explore health careers. They provide students with a foundation of healthcare knowledge and skills and facilitate a smooth transition into postsecondary nursing, medical, or allied health education.
How does Foothills AHEC support HSTE teachers?
Our Health Careers Coordinator travels to high school classrooms throughout our 31-county service area to educate students about resources, educational programs, and health career opportunities in Georgia. Email Johanna Miller to schedule a presentation.
Foothills AHEC partners with the Georgia Statewide AHEC Network and its 6 centers to produce the Health Careers in Georgia publication every 3 years. This publication includes state-specific details on over 80 health careers reviewed by expert readers across Georgia, as well as information about how to pursue a health career and the latest industry trends.
