Health Careers Intensive Programs

Foothills AHEC is proud to partner with academic institutions in our service area to connect students with opportunities for deeper exploration of a wide variety of healthcare careers. The mission of the intensive programs is to expose high school students to many healthcare careers via hands-on activities in medicine, dentistry, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, healthcare informatics, etc. through labs in simulation, gait, pharmaceutical compounding, anatomy, microbiology, and more. These opportunities vary among the universities. The programs aim to give high school students (or recent graduates) an inside look at the lives of college students in healthcare professional education programs.

Intensive programs are designed for students already interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. Students must apply and be accepted to participate in an intensive program. Fees vary between programs. Click on one of the program types below for specific details.

If you have graduated from a past intensive program, you may be eligible for our Foothills AHEC Scholarship. Click here to see all scholarship application requirements.
