Recruitment Programs
AHECs assist communities with the development of their own health care professionals through a unique "Grow our Own" concept. We work with elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and post secondary schools in our AHEC region to create and conduct programs designed to encourage students to explore and pursue one of the many health care professions.
During the school year, we visit schools and classrooms, such as career exploratory programs, science classes, health occupations programs, in addition to participating in school and community Health Career Fairs.
During the summer months, we sponsor health career camps that allow youth to explore the many opportunities in health care. We work with both youth and adults in exploring Health Career Opportunities.
