Mission
Foothills AHEC is a non-profit regional health education center based in Gainesville, Georgia.
The mission of Foothills AHEC is to increase the quality, supply and education of health professionals in Northeast Georgia. We accomplish our mission by:
- "Growing Our Own" health professionals by educating elementary, middle, and high school students about the many careers available in healthcare.
- Establishing community-based training sites and developing strategies for retention and continuation of health care professionals.
- Supporting life long learning by providing access to current professional healthcare literature to preceptors and students training in the AHEC region.
- Providing continuing education programs targeted toward helping health care professionals meet licensure and certification requirements. We strive to make continuing education both accessible and affordable.
