Document Delivery

Foothills AHEC provides document delivery for journal articles. If you are an active preceptor there will be no or very little cost for document delivery. If the document delivery fee is large, we may have to pass the cost to the preceptor. If this occurs, you will be contacted BEFORE the document is ordered. If you are not an active preceptor, there may be a fee for requested documents.

Books, videos, etc. may also be available through document delivery or interlibrary loan. There may be a fee.

Copyright Restrictions

The copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction, one of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purpose in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. Foothills AHEC reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order, if in our judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
